Cimetrix provides multi-faceted rapid prototyping (RP) services, including Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), and professional prototype model making. FDM is an additive manufacturing process that creates your plastic parts by applying real thermoplastics in layers from the bottom up. At Cimegrix we use Fortus 3D Production systems and Dimension 3D Printers, both manufactured by industry leader, Stratasys.

Benifits of Using FDM

• Durable Materials -Unlike SLA or SLS which use resins, FDM uses real production-grade thermoplastics. In fact, they are the same high-performance raw materials used in most injection molding technologies.
• Build Accuracy - FDM technology builds the most accurate parts of any additive fabrication system.
• Part Repeatability - Unlike Stereolithography (SLA) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) that use resins to build your models, FDM uses real thermoplastics. SLA & SLS resins deteriorate over time. Their lasers also depreciate over time making it difficult to ensure repeatability. With Cimetrix's FDM, we can produce the same part consistently.
