FDM Nylon 6 Now Available

We are please do announce that FDM Nylon 6 is now available as a material option for 3D Printing services through our Innovaiton Centre, as well as for direct purchase from our materials department. The material is currently compatible with the Production Series Fortus 900mc (Gen 1 & Gen 2), with expansion for the Fortus 450mc  in 2017.

Printing with Nylon 6

FDM Nylon 6 offers the best combination of strength and toughness of any FDM material. It works with the Fortus 900mc to build durable prototypes that accurately predict functional performance, manufacturing tools that withstand the rigors of a production environment, or low-volume production parts that meet high functional requirements. FDM Nylon 6 is available in black, and takes advantage of soluble support technology by leveraging SR-110.

Applications

  • Build jigs, fixtures, guides, guards and other manufacturing aids that require good tensile and mechanical strength.
  • Test the functional performance of components like pedals, handles, bindings, gears, joints, bearings, fasteners and covers before investing in tooling.
  • Eliminate the time and cost of tooling for low-volume, high-requirement parts on aircraft or industrial machinery by manufacturing them on the Fortus 900mc.
